Open evening saw our Cadets, dressed in their newly issued DPM uniform, stewarding parents onto the new amphitheatre seating, ready for an address by the Leadership team. To start events, they gave a small demonstration of drill which included marching, with commands being given by the Cadets themselves.
The Cadets have now been issued their smart blue uniforms and they can be seen wearing this on Mondays.
They have now learnt some of the history of the RAF, the parts that make up an airfield and how to recognise the rank structure in the RAF.
Coming soon is their initial expedition training, Cadet-style, where they will learn how to construct and site their tents, feed themselves using military rations on trangia cookers and the basics of map reading. All of this will happen whilst they are on an eco-campsite somewhere in Staffordshire so that they can immediately put these skills into practice. Photos coming soon.
